Breaking Ground is a ‘one year on’ progress report of the 2023 landmark report,
A Blueprint for tackling Queensland’s housing crisis. It was the first of its kind in Australia to outline a comprehensive, evidence-based reform package to tackle the housing crisis at a state level.
This 2024 report aims to document and evaluate recent measures enacted by the Queensland Government and the Australian Government that relate to the earlier recommendations of:
- Have a plan
- Build more houses
- Make renting affordable and more secure
- Make homes more affordable.
The report was written by Professor Hal Pawson and the UNSW City Future Research Centre team and was commissioned by QCOSS and the Town of Nowhere Partners.
